Project Descriptions

The Korea Consulate is located at Nguyen Du Road, Ben Thanh Ward, the historical and political heart of District 1, is home to Ho Chi Minh City's most iconic landmarks, including the Independence Palace and Notre-Dame Cathedral. As a high-security civic hub, it hosts key government institutions like the Municipal People's Committee alongside numerous international consulates, making it the city's premier administrative and cultural core.

Based on the spatial configuration concepts of a traditional Hanok, a sequence was established that flows from the main building and central courtyard to the consular building, visitor area, and open space. 

While the people are said to be the foundation of a nation, physically, that foundation consists of mountains, fields, and rivers. In this land, which shares an agrarian culture, the depth of our traditional landscape painting resonates deeply with the local sentiment.  The flow of rivers and the undulating plains symbolize the comforting sanctuary of agrarian culture. The negative space in a landscape painting—completed by the addition of mountains—reveals something deeper than the brushstrokes themselves.
